Launching LANGUAGE AGORA Project on 10.10.2023: Dalchini Restaurant Centara West Bay Residence & Hotel @ 18:00-20:00
The launch of LANGUAGE AGORA on October 10, 2023, a “dream social sustainability project” which was inaugurated then marked a significant milestone in Reena Naser’s journey to promote cultural and social sustainability in Qatar. The project, born out of Reena’s vision to create an inclusive and cohesive multicultural society, aims to foster a sense of community, belonging, and well-being among the diverse population of Qatar through the celebration of language and culture.
For the inaugural event, Reena chose to spotlight the vibrant culture of India, in recognition of the significant Indian community in Qatar, being one of the largest expat communities in the country. The event was held at the Dalchini Restaurant in Centara West Bay Residence & Hotel, a venue that perfectly complemented the theme with its delectable Indian cuisine and warm, inviting atmosphere.
The launch event was an intimate affair, with guests attending by invitation only. Reena meticulously organized, arranged, and executed every aspect of the evening, ensuring that the event would set the tone for the future of LANGUAGE AGORA.
The highlight of the evening was a presentation by a native Indian guest, who introduced the audience to the rich tapestry of languages spoken in India. The speaker delved into the intricacies of both verbal and non-verbal communication, showcasing the diversity of linguistic traditions across the Indian subcontinent. Guests were also treated to a lesson in some of the most common words and phrases used in Hindi, providing them with a practical introduction to the language.
The evening was punctuated by lively discussions and the forging of new connections, as guests from various backgrounds came together to celebrate the beauty of language and culture, by choosing a language of choice table to sit & practice.
As the event drew to a close, Reena took the opportunity to conduct a survey among the attendees. The feedback gathered would serve to validate the concept of LANGUAGE AGORA and provide valuable insights for the planning of future events. The overwhelmingly positive response from the guests was a testament to the project’s potential to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Qatar’s diverse residents.
The successful launch of LANGUAGE AGORA with the Indian culture event marked the beginning of a journey to celebrate the 100+ nationalities that call Qatar home. Through this initiative, Reena Naser has set out to create a platform that promotes cross-cultural understanding, fosters inclusive communities, and ultimately contributes to the social and cultural sustainability of Qatar.
